The Island's only cyber-cafe, opened its doors in March 1996, to provide an additional recreational facility. The cafe is in the basement of the Methodist Church, in recently refurbished premises.
The Netcafe has proved popular with both residents and visitors in Alderney providing an opportunity for all to come and Surf the Net, send and receive Email and also for the unitiated to try out computer technology.
The venture has proved popular in an island of only 2000 people. Attendances vary from week to week but has seen as many as 25 people coming to Surf. Along with the technical bits, there is always the opportunity to sit down with a cup of coffee and enjoy a chat. (with human interface!)
