Train Spotting for Railway Enthusiasts
It’s train spotting – but not as you know it. Queen Victoria travelled on
Alderney's railway - the only working railway in the Channel Islands.
Originally built to transport granite to construct a naval harbour at Braye,
is now manned by volunteers of the Alderney Railway Society who provide a
regular service at weekends during the summer months and on Bank Holidays,
leaving Braye Station at 2pm, 3pm and 4pm. (Diesel engines and Wickham train)
