Golf
The Alderney golf course is a 9-hole course with alternate tees, which add distance and variety to each hole, making it an overall, challenging 18-hole course. The natural hazards of the course call for additional skills and, at certain times, the wind factor can test the most competent of golfers.
The course is one of the most scenic and testing golf courses in the Channel Islands and you will relish the opportunity to play amidst unspoilt countryside, surrounded by golden sandy beaches, and Victorian fortresses.
Take in the stunning views of the nearby French coast on the 3rd and 4th holes, the 2nd and 6th tees and the 1st green. As you approach the 7th, 8th and 9th tees, you have a marvellous view across the English Channel.
Green fees are the lowest in the Channel Islands: 18 holes is £30 and £25 with a member and 9 holes is £17.50 and £15.00 with a member. £47.50 for a one day ticket, playing as many holes as often as you like. If you play with a member, it’s just £40 per day. Week tickets are also availble, please enquire at the clubhouse. You can hire clubs (£10) and trollies (£3) at the clubhouse.
The club is not over-subscribed and, unlike most other golf courses, here it is possible to walk on and play without having to book a tee-time, unless there is a championship or tournament taking place that day. The Committee reserves the right to instruct the club staff to refuse access to the course to visiting groups of more than 4 players if such proposed visits have not been previously confirmed as not interfering with the club’s local fixtures. Please telephone the Steward to make arrangements. For more information please contact the Alderney Golf Club Tel: 01481 822835
