Miss Alderney 2010 crowned

On Saturday 29 May 2010, the annual Miss Alderney disco took place at the Island Hall where Miss Alderney 2010 was elected along with her Maid of Honour. The lucky winner was 18 year old Joanna Woodnutt, who has just finished studying for her A-levels at school in Guernsey. Her Maid of Honour was 20-year old Hannah Osborne.

There were only two entrants to the competition, but a celebrity judge in the form of comedian Richard Digance, ensured the pressure stayed on during their interviews for the role.

Jo Woodnutt said: "I am really happy to have won. It’s a great opportunity to show everybody how much I love the island and be an ambassadress for the island and I am really looking forward to doing that. Alderney Week is really important to me and it always has been since I was born here and it’s great that I can be such a big part of it."

2010 ALDERNEY WEEK LOGO IS CHOSEN

Alderney Week 2010 takes place from 31 July to 8 August and the theme this year is History Makers. 

This year’s winning logo was designed by 9-year old Bethany Nicholls, a pupil at St. Anne’s School.
