ALDERNEY WEEK THEME 2010 IS RELEASED
Alderney Week 2010 takes place from 30 July to 8 August and Alderney Week Team Leader Ronnie Cairnduff has confirmed the theme for ALDERNEY WEEK 2010 is :
“HISTORY MAKERS”
This global theme offers plenty of scope for all to participate with Cavalcade floats, fancy dress costumes and walking groups, man-powered flight and Daft Raft Race contraptions to themed events and competitions:
HISTORY MAKERS CAN BE PEOPLE or CHARACTERS both real and fictitious - from kings and queens to world leaders , heroes and trend setters , to name but a few:
Julius Caesar, Henry VIII and Queen Victoria to Richard the Lionheart, Charlemagne, Cleopatra, Queen Boudicca, King Neptune , or Churchill , Thatcher , Abraham Lincoln , Hannibal , or Davy Crockett , Indian Chiefs, Sitting Bull – Billy The Kid – General Custer – The Lone Ranger & Tonto , Napoleon, Genghis Khan , Ghandi , Shakespeare , Charles Dickens , Emmeline Pankhurst ,Florence Nightingale , Nelson Mandela The Romans , Mods & Rockers , Flower Power, Hippies and Beatniks
